Of everything in The Electricianz’s current lineup, the Bionic Couture Edition is the one I kept coming back to. It’s the brand’s first dedicated women’s timepiece from its ELZ Lab line, priced at $398, and capped at 30 pieces with no restock planned. I went through the full spec sheet and what current owners of similar pieces report to see if the limited-run price tag actually holds up.
What it’s made of
The case is 42mm across with a 34mm dial opening, small by The Electricianz’s usual 45mm standard. It’s built from stainless steel with a white matte ceramic layer mixed with a nylon sheath, plus a stainless steel pusher, bezel, and crown. The glass is hardened K1 mineral with an anti-reflective coating, and the whole thing carries a 3 ATM water resistance rating, enough for rain and hand-washing but not swimming.
The dial is where the design earns its name. An electric blue base shows five visibly colored cables running through a semi-transparent plate, and four warm white LEDs light up the hour ring on demand. It’s the same patented lighting module the brand uses across most of its watches, just tuned to fewer LEDs and a softer color temperature for this piece.
The two-strap setup
Every Bionic Couture Edition ships with a hand-made grey felt leather band on a stainless steel pin buckle, plus a complimentary white rubber strap in the box. That’s a real value-add most watches at this price don’t include: one strap for daily wear, a second for gym or wet conditions, both fitted at 20mm so third-party straps are an easy swap later too.
What to watch out for
This exact model doesn’t have its own public review thread yet since it’s a newer, limited release. But the brand’s overall track record is worth factoring in before you buy: The Electricianz sits at 2.7 out of 5 across independent reviews, with recurring complaints about strap durability, LED or timekeeping faults on some units, and slow support responses. A few reviewers also report their watch arriving from a Hong Kong warehouse rather than Switzerland.
None of that is specific to the Bionic Couture Edition, and a hand-assembled felt strap and ceramic case are a step up in materials from the brand’s entry-level nylon pieces. Still, given the 14-day return window and the fact that US buyers lose prepaid duties and taxes on any return, it’s worth reading the fine print before ordering. Should you buy it
If you want a genuinely distinctive women’s watch with a working light feature, two included straps, and a ceramic case for under $400, the Bionic Couture Edition is one of the more thoughtfully specced pieces in The Electricianz catalog. Just buy it knowing this is a young, small-batch brand: the design is the draw, not a flawless track record.
