I went through the spec sheet and a wide stretch of buyer feedback to see if it earns that spot.
What it’s built for
The Vario 12000 BTU covers spaces up to 550 square feet, which puts it in range for a large bedroom, a converted garage, or a small open living area. It carries a 21 SEER2 efficiency rating and keeps producing heat down to -4°F outdoors, which covers most of the continental US outside the coldest mountain and northern climates.
Indoor noise sits around 28 dBA on low fan speed. For comparison, a quiet library runs about 30 to 40 dBA, so this unit is genuinely close to silent in a bedroom overnight.
What buyers are actually saying
A 4.4-star average across four figures of reviews is a strong, hard-to-fake number at that volume. Buyers consistently call out fast, effective cooling and heating, quiet indoor operation, and a straightforward WiFi setup through the Della+ app for remote scheduling and Alexa control.
The complaints are narrower but worth knowing before you buy. A share of reviewers report error codes appearing on the control board within the first year, and some describe waiting longer than expected for a replacement part once a warranty claim is filed. Installation and maintenance
