Out of Smartravel’s whole catalog, the Raptor ST202 is the model that keeps showing up in comparison threads. It’s the brand’s GPS-enabled flagship, priced at $1,249.99 with 31 reviews and an 84% five-star rate. I went through the spec sheet and as many of those reviews as I could find to see if the hype holds up.
What it’s built with
The Raptor ST202 runs a 1500W peak (1200W sustained) hub motor with 86 N·m of torque, good for a claimed top speed of 32 mph and up to 60 miles of range on the included 48V 27Ah battery. It charges in 5 to 6 hours with the stock fast charger.
The frame is aluminum alloy with a removable battery, 20-by-4-inch fat tires, hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, and a front hydraulic fork plus rear shock. Shimano 7-speed gearing rounds out the drivetrain, and the whole thing arrives 90% pre-assembled.
The feature that separates it from most of Smartravel’s other models is the built-in GPS. The companion app gives you real-time location, geofencing alerts, an anti-theft alarm, overspeed alerts, and seven days of ride history, on top of the standard smart LCD display.
What buyers are actually saying
An 84% five-star rate across 31 reviews is a solid number, and the written reviews back it up on the points that matter most to riders: torque, assembly, and how the bike handles heavier riders.
One buyer wrote that they’re “a good 335lbs and this baby moves me just fine,” which lines up with the bike’s 350-lb weight capacity. Another called assembly “super easy” and specifically praised the hunter green color. A third simply wrote “this thing rocks.”
The one recurring gripe even among five-star reviews is the lack of a proper ignition switch. One buyer put it plainly: “Just wish it had an ignition on switch.” Outside the on-site reviews, broader Smartravel owner threads flag weaker climbing on steep hills and reduced power under hard acceleration, complaints worth keeping in mind if your commute has real grades.
Colors and what’s in the box
The Raptor ST202 ships in two colors: green and grey. The box includes the bike itself, one 48V 27Ah battery, a fast charger, and a basic tool kit for final assembly.
During the current mid-year sale, Smartravel is including a free e-bike lock, mirrors, and a rear shelf with purchase. Worth confirming those gifts are still active before you check out, since sale inclusions change.
How it compares
Against Smartravel’s own lineup, the Raptor ST202 sits above the entry-level DK400 on power and range, while the dual-motor Raptor ST202 Pro goes further still if you want 3000W and 80 miles of range for roughly $500 more.
Against outside competitors, moped-style bikes from brands like Ariel Rider generally edge it out on torque, but at a noticeably higher price.
Should you buy it
If you want a moped-style e-bike with real torque, GPS security features, and a 350-lb weight capacity for around $1,250, the Raptor ST202 is the easiest pick in Smartravel’s lineup. Expect strong flat-ground performance and plan for slower climbs on steep hills.
