Out of everything in AM Off-Road’s catalog, one part carries the company’s own patent and its reputation more than any other: the Shark Grille for the 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK, priced at $179.99. I went through the spec sheet, the install process, and buyer feedback to see if it holds up to the hype.
What it’s made of
The grille is molded from thermoformed ABS plastic with a metallic-luster glossy black finish (a matte black version is also sold). AM Off-Road states the material resists corrosion, rust, and delamination, and holds up to light off-road impacts.
The design itself, an eagle-eye “shark” mouth shape with open-cut headlight and turn signal cutouts, is one of the company’s patented molds. It replaces the stock seven-slot JK grille entirely rather than clipping over it.
Installing it
AM Off-Road advertises a roughly 15-minute install with basic hand tools: remove the factory push clips, unplug the stock turn signals, transfer them to the new grille, reinstall the retaining clips, and apply the included weather stripping. No cutting, drilling, or permanent modification is required, so the stock grille can go back on later if you sell the Jeep.

A YouTube install-and-review video on this exact grille describes it as unique and well-constructed with a straightforward fit. That matches the product page’s own installation claims.
The complicating factor is the brand’s wider complaint pattern. A Wrangler Forum thread documents at least one buyer reporting fitment issues and bent mounting tabs on a Shark Grille order, and AM Off-Road’s Trustpilot page shows a broader history of parts shipped in the wrong finish or year. This specific product doesn’t have a large public complaint thread of its own, but it’s worth going in aware of the brand-level pattern rather than assuming every unit ships perfect.
Fitment and finish options
This exact listing fits 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK and JKU (4-door) models. It’s sold in glossy black and matte black, and AM Off-Road also sells the same shape for the newer JL body style separately, so double check which generation Wrangler you have before ordering.
Given the fitment complaint on record, I’d inspect the grille and mounting tabs the moment it arrives, before you start the install, so any damage claim is easy to document.
