Out of MOES’s whole gas detector lineup, this is the one with the most substantial written reviews attached to it: the 4-in-1 Carbon Monoxide & Natural Gas Detector, priced at $26.99 (down from $32.99). I went through the full spec sheet and every review on the product page to see if it holds up.
What it actually detects
This is model PTH-24E, and it covers four readings: carbon monoxide, combustible gas (LPG and natural gas), temperature, and humidity. CO is measured across a 0 to 999 PPM range with the alarm defaulting to trigger at 51 PPM. Combustible gas is measured on a four-level scale, with the alarm triggering at 5% LEL or higher.
Temperature and humidity readings run alongside the gas sensors on the same 2-inch IPS display, so you get a live readout instead of a device that only reacts when something goes wrong.
The one thing to know before buying
This detector is plug-and-play, not app-connected. There’s no WiFi, no Tuya app, and no phone notifications. It runs entirely on its own: plug it into an outlet, and it alerts through a built-in 85dB alarm and a four-stage color-coded display (green, yellow, orange, red) as danger levels rise.
If you specifically want a smart, app-connected gas sensor tied into a broader automation setup, this isn’t it. If you want a reliable standalone safety device you can plug in and forget about, that’s exactly what it’s built for.
What buyers are actually saying
All three written reviews on the product page are five stars, which is a small sample but a clean one. One reviewer, L.C., says they run one unit at home and a second in their RV, and calls it “very sensitive to the gases it checks.”
The most striking review comes from a buyer identified only as C., who says the detector caught a real gas leak: a bathroom vent was releasing small amounts of natural gas into the room, and the unit picked it up. That’s the kind of review that’s hard to fake and exactly the scenario this device is built for.
Build and installation
The housing is flame-retardant ABS plastic, measuring 105 by 55 by 52mm with the plug included. It ships with swappable US, EU, and UK plug heads, so the same unit works across regions. Power input is 100 to 220V, which covers most household outlets worldwide.
Installation is a single step: plug it into any wall outlet, ideally near a gas appliance, water heater, or attached garage. There’s no wiring, no pairing, and no setup screen to get through.
Where to place it
For CO detection, outlets near sleeping areas and attached garages matter most, since carbon monoxide exposure while sleeping is the most dangerous scenario. For gas leak detection, an outlet near the kitchen stove, water heater, or gas furnace makes more sense, since natural gas and propane readings are most useful close to the source.
Should you buy it
At $26.99 for a 4-in-1 plug-in unit with real CO and combustible gas sensors, this is one of the more useful safety devices in MOES’s entire catalog, and one of the few products in this review set with a genuinely compelling real-world review behind it.
