The Cambria Nap Dress in Arcadia Border is one of Hill House Home’s pricier styles at $248, and it’s newer than most of the brand’s bestsellers. Before buying it, I wanted to know exactly what the price gets you and whether the early reviews hold up.
What it’s made of
The Cambria uses House Voile, described on the product page as a lightweight, 100% cotton fabric. It’s made in China, like the rest of the current Nap Dress line.
The design leans on Hill House’s proprietary Nap Smocking, with dainty ruffles along the neckline and shoulders and a slight v-neck. Back ties can be worn as a bow or left hanging, depending on how dressed up you want the silhouette to look.

Hill House’s own sizing note for this style is specific: size up from your usual Ellie Nap Dress size, since the Cambria’s smocking runs tighter. It comes in XXXS through XXL, which is a wider range than a lot of competing dress brands offer.
If you’ve never ordered from the brand before, that sizing note alone is worth reading twice. Smocked bodices don’t stretch the same way across every fabric, so a size that fits one Nap Dress colorway won’t necessarily fit another.

The reviews that do exist echo what the product description promises: reviewers describe the fabric as light and pretty, call the fit flattering, and single out the back detail as “gorgeous” and “super feminine.” I’d treat that as a promising early signal rather than a settled verdict.

Against outside competitors like Sleeper, the trade-off is different: less brand recognition for the going-anywhere dress category, but Hill House’s smocked construction and pocketless simplicity in exchange.
Should you buy it
If you want a Nap Dress with real structure and don’t mind paying for a fabric that holds its shape, the Cambria is a reasonable pick, especially since the early reviews are consistent even if the sample is small. If you’d rather see a longer track record first, the Ellie Nap Dress in Pastel Trellis has over 1,200 reviews at the same 4.8-star average.
Order true to Hill House’s own size chart, remember to size up from your Ellie size specifically for this style, and check the current 15-day return window before you buy, since it’s shorter than a lot of comparable dress brands offer.
A cheaper alternative if you want to try the line first
If the Cambria’s $248 price tag and small review sample give you pause, the Ellie Nap Dress in Black Crepe is a lower-stakes way to try the same smocked construction. It’s $99, made from GRS-certified recycled polyester, and rated 4.7 out of 5 from 124 reviews, a much larger sample than the Cambria has so far.
